T'was the Night Before Christmas NASCAR Style
T’was the night before Christmas and all around the track,
Not a driver or team were stirring they all had hit the sack.
Goodyear Tires and Sunoco Fuel were stored away with care,
With the hope that soon they would no longer be there.
The drivers were nestled in their own beds at home,
Chase and Denny still seeing visions of twisted chrome.
Kevin Harvick was asleep, Jimmie did snore,
And Dale Jr. sadly would be racin no more.
When out on the track rose such a clatter.
A NASCAR Official leaped out of his bed to see what was the matter.
He ran out to see as fast as he could.
And stared out the window and there he just stood.
The lights shown bright on the blacktop of the track.
And I saw Ricky nearly trip over a crack.
And what to my wondering eyes should appear
Brian France sitting down drinking a cold beer.
When around turn 4 came a flying Kyle Busch
Leading the pack waiting to get a big push.
A caution was waved, for what I couldn’t see
Perhaps a stage or maybe some debris.
Now Kyle, now Jimmie now Denny now Chase.
It’s go time to see who will win the race.
The green flag did wave flying in the air
Then Keselowski did yell, “Hey that’s not fair!”
The engines did roar, I had to cover my ears
Not seeing Junior out there had brought me to tears.
Around turn three the cars were a flyin
As Danica fell back, her fans were a sighin.
Austin Dillon was deep in the pack
Trying to stay behind his baby brothers back.
As Ty moved around Austin did follow
I gasp with surprise, it was really hard to swallow.
I watched as the 18 came around the turn in the lead
Kyle Busch was definitely showing he had the most speed.
Those Goodyear Tires were turning oh so fast
His entire crew, oh they were having such a blast.
When out of the sky came a object so weird,
All you could see was this fat guys white beard.
As he dropped to the ground you could see his eight reindeer
Many fans looked up, then took huge swigs of their beer.
He spoke not a word as he exited his sleigh
Hey Smoke yelled, I wonder how much he does weigh?
Laying his finger across his red nose
He glanced at Brian France who quickly froze
Filling the pit boxes with goodies and toys
He yelled, you’ve all been very good boys.
Entertaining your fans throughout the year.
You all deserve nothing but good cheer.
He shuffled back to his sleigh as we all starred with delight
And away he did fly, away in the dark sky.
But I heard him yell down before he went out of sight,
Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night.
